A Message From Pastor Mike
Our Brief History
How we started.
CenterPoint began in 1945 as Provo Bible Church. In 1965, it became Evangelical Free Church, located in a quiet neighborhood on 400 E in Orem, across from Orem High School. Many years later, after experiencing a resurgence under Pastor Scott McKinney, the church was renamed CenterPoint and embarked on a challenging journey to relocate to a larger site at 1550 Sandhill Road to accommodate both current and future growth. In 2016, that nearly decade-long journey was completed.
In less than eight years, this vision has not only been fulfilled but surpassed, as the current campus now holds four services over two days, welcoming over 1,500 people every weekend.

Where we're going.
With this growth comes a challenge similar to what the previous generation of our faith family faced: How do we continue to make room for those in our valley seeking to make Jesus the CenterPoint of their lives?
In this season, we aim to answer that question with a new vision: to open doors, provide seats, and transform hearts in southern Utah County, making Jesus known there as well.

Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
Romans 12:4-5
He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body.
Colossians 1:17–20
For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
Matthew 18:20
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:28
FAQ
Why can't we add more services to our current facility for growth?
Technically we can. But the effectiveness is limited. CenterPoint meets a "Sunday morning" culture. We're utilizing every minute of Sunday morning already.
What will be different & similar about the new campus
The new campus will share Orem’s mission, vision, and values. It will feature the same Sunday message (live or on video), live worship with the same songs, and its own dedicated staff.
Why are we looking to south Utah County to plant the new campus?
South County is already the residence of more than a third of our church (a staple for successful campus launches) but more importantly the mission field in this region is largely unmet.
What happens if we don't make our financial goals?
Our board of directors and Executive Leadership Team will reassess what we believe is wise for next steps. We may retain purchase of land and wait for better timing. We may pivot.
When should I begin to give my commitment?
You can begin giving immediately, or on Pledge Sunday with the rest of the congregation (November 17).
How will my donation be used?
For purchasing and improving real estate for adding a CenterPoint Campus in South Utah County.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes, if you itemize. We are a 501(c)(3) organization.
Is it better to give by check or online?
That is up to you! If you give online, the ACH method has a much lower fee than credit/debit cards.
(ACH: 30¢; Credit: 2.15% + 30¢)
(ACH: 30¢; Credit: 2.15% + 30¢)
How do I give stocks or bonds?

Can I give through my donor advised fund or a qualified charitable distribution?
The custodian of your fund typically recognizes CenterPoint as a 501(c)(3) and simply needs you to request a check amount & frequency. In case they are not familiar with us, we can furnish the necessary documents.
What if my finances change during the term of my pledge?
Simply let us know and we will adjust your recurring gift.
Is CenterPoint transparent with its finances?
We use a third-party accountant for monthly finances and quarterly/annual tasks. Our board reviews finances monthly, and annually. Both finances and the board are presented, voted on, and approved by the congregation.
Will the pastoral staff know how much I give?
They will not know who gives or how much.
Who will know what I put on my commitment card?
A member of our finance team (non-staff) will collect and record these cards solely for the purpose of forecasting our financial capabilities and furnishing pledged amounts to the bank securing our loan if needed.
